Privacy Notice
1. Who is responsible for your information?
MMJ Cleaning Ltd is the data controller for the personal information collected through the FOLD Consumer Research Survey.
Registered office: 15a Station Road, Epping, CM16 4HG
Privacy and data protection enquiries: hello@wearefold.co.uk
2. What information do we collect?
Depending on the answers you provide, we may collect information about:
- your age group, household size and type of accommodation;
- the first part of your postcode;
- your current laundry habits, preferences and service usage;
- your views about FOLD, including service preferences, pricing and potential future services;
- your first name and email address if you choose to join FOLD Early Access;
- your email address if you choose to enter the FOLD Consumer Research £100 Prize Draw;
- whether you are willing to take part in follow-up research.
We do not ask you to provide special category personal information through this survey.
3. Why do we use your information?
We use survey responses to research, evaluate and develop the FOLD proposition. This includes understanding potential customer needs, demand, service preferences, pricing, operational choices and routes to market.
If you choose to join FOLD Early Access, we use your contact details to send you email updates about FOLD's launch, trials and Early Access opportunities.
If you separately agree to follow-up research, we may contact you to invite you to take part in further research.
If you choose to enter the FOLD Consumer Research £100 Prize Draw, we use the email address you provide only to administer the prize draw, select and contact the winner, verify eligibility where necessary and deliver the prize. Entering the prize draw does not sign you up for FOLD marketing.
4. Our lawful bases
For the core market-research and business-development analysis, MMJ Cleaning Ltd relies on its legitimate interests in researching and evaluating a prospective service and business proposition. We consider the information collected to be proportionate to those purposes and have designed the survey to avoid collecting information we do not need.
For FOLD Early Access email communications, we rely on your consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time by using the unsubscribe option in an email or by contacting us.
If you agree to be contacted for follow-up research, we will use that choice to contact you about the research opportunity. Participation in any follow-up research remains voluntary.
For administering the FOLD Consumer Research £100 Prize Draw, including selecting and contacting the winner and delivering the prize, MMJ Cleaning Ltd relies on the performance of the prize draw terms entered into with participants.
5. Who do we share information with?
We use service providers to support this research and our technology. This includes SurveyMonkey, which hosts the survey and processes survey data on our behalf.
We may also use service providers for secure hosting, communications, storage or analysis where reasonably necessary. We do not sell your personal information.
6. International transfers
Some service providers may process personal information outside the United Kingdom. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism or other safeguard required by UK data protection law.
7. How long do we keep your information?
We keep identifiable research information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this notice. Where practical, research findings retained for longer-term planning will be aggregated or anonymised.
If you join FOLD Early Access, we may retain your contact information while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe or object to direct marketing, we may keep the minimum information necessary on a suppression list so that we can respect your preference.
For the prize draw, we intend to delete unsuccessful entrants' prize-draw email addresses within 90 days after the draw has been completed. We may retain limited information relating to the winner and administration of the promotion for longer where reasonably necessary to demonstrate that the draw was conducted fairly, meet legal or regulatory requirements, or resolve a complaint.
Full promotional terms are available in our £100 Prize Draw Terms.
8. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to ask us for access to your personal information, correct it, erase it, restrict its use, object to certain processing, or receive certain information in a portable format.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time. You also have an absolute right to object to the use of your personal information for direct marketing.
To exercise a data protection right, contact hello@wearefold.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
9. Data protection complaints
You can raise a complaint about how we use your personal information by emailing hello@wearefold.co.uk or writing to MMJ Cleaning Ltd at the registered office above.
We will acknowledge a data protection complaint within 30 days of receiving it, take appropriate steps to investigate it without undue delay, keep you informed where appropriate, and tell you the outcome.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
10. Changes to this notice
FOLD is still in development, so this notice may change as the project develops. If a change materially affects how we use personal information already collected, we will provide appropriate information about that change.
